During his prolific career Pass accompanied some of the top jazz singers and soloists including Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, Ray Brown and Oscar Peterson to name a few. His seemingly endless melodic knowledge and harmonic wizardry has been an inspiration to jazz players of his time and today.

A true archtop guitar, the Emperor-II PRO has a Select Spruce top with laminated Flame Maple sides. A hand-set neck with medium jumbo frets and the Epiphone-vintage “tree of life” design makes this a truly stand-out design. Set with a Probucker-2 humbucker in the neck and a hotter Probucker-3 pickup in the bridge, this guitar absolutely sings. Coil-splitting ability allows for a plethora of tonal configurations, or play it unplugged for classic open jazz tone just like Joe!

Specs:
Top Material: Select Spruce, Arched with Hand-Scalloped
Bracing and Sound Post
Back Material: Laminated Flame Maple
Side Material: Laminated Flame Maple
Neck Material: 3-pc Laminated Hard Maple
Neck Shape: 1960s SlimTaper™, C-Profile
Neck Joint: Glued-In
Truss Rod: Adjustable
Scale Length: 24.75"
Fingerboard Material: Rosewood with Pearloid Block Inlays
Bridge Pickup: ProBucker-3™
Neck Pickup: ProBucker-2™
Controls: Bridge Volume with coil-splitting, Neck Volume with coil-splitting, Bridge Tone, Neck Tone, 3-Way Pickup Selector (toggle), Ivory Toggle Cap
Binding: Top: 5-Ply (Ivory/Black), Back: 5-Ply (Ivory/Black), Neck: 5-Ply (Ivory/Black), Headstock: 5-Ply (Ivory/Black), "F" Holes: 1-Ply (Ivory/Black)
Fingerboard Radius: 12"
Frets: 20, Medium-Jumbo
Bridge: Floating Rosewood, Thumbwheel Adjustable Height
Tailpiece: "Vintage Scroll" Trapeze
Nut: Graphtech® NuBone XL™
Nut Width: 1-11/16"
Hardware: Gold
Machine Heads: Grover™ Rotomatic™, 18:1 Ratio
Pickguard: Bound "Tortoise" Pickguard with Metal "E"
Truss Rod Cover: 2-Ply (Black/White), "Joe Pass Emperor-II PRO" in White
Knobs: Top Hats with Metal Inserts (Volume/Tone)
Strings: 10-46 Guage
Warranty: Epiphone Limited Lifetime

Chicago Music Exchange is an authorized online Gibson dealer.
