A longtime workhorse for artists like Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Neil Young, and The Beatles, the D-28 deserves its place in history as a quintessential instrument, and leave it to Martin to make it better. The new D-28 combines features from its mid-century heyday with pre-war specs to create a guitar that possesses all the most heralded qualities of its long and storied history. Vintage appointments, open gear tuners, antique white accents and an aged top as well as forward-shifted bracing for increased resonance on the top–this is at once a very old guitar, and a completely new Martin.

Brand: Martin
Model: D-28 (2017)

Construction: Dovetail Neck Joint
Body Size: D-14 Fret
Top Material: Sitka Spruce
Rosette: Multi-Stripe
Bracing Pattern: Forward Shifted X Brace
Brace Shape: Non-Scalloped
Brace Material: Sitka Spruce
Brace Size: 5/16"
Back Material: East Indian Rosewood
Back Purfling/Strip: Style 28
Side Material: East Indian Rosewood
Endpiece: Antique White
Endpiece Inlay: Multi-Stripe
Binding: Antique White
Top Inlay Material: Multi-Stripe
Back Inlay Material: Multi-Stripe

Neck Material: Select Hardwood
Neck Shape: Modified Low Oval
Neck Taper: High Performance Taper
Plek: Yes
Nut Material: Bone
Headstock Shape: Solid with Square Taper and Diamond
Headplate Material: East Indian Rosewood
Headplate Logo Style: Script Old Style Overlay
Heelcap: Antique White
Fingerboard Material: Ebony
Scale Length: 25.4"
Neck Joins Body At: 14th Fret
Number of Frets Total: 20
Fingerboard Width at Nut: 1 3/4''
Fingerboard Width at 12th Fret: 2 1/8''
Fingerboard Inlay Material: Mother of Pearl
Fingerboard Inlay Style: Style 28
Side Dots: White

Back and Side Finish: Gloss
Finish Top: Gloss
Top Color: Aging Toner
Finish Neck: Satin
Neck Color: Dark Mahogany

Bridge Material: Ebony
Bridge Style: Modern Belly - Drop in Saddle
Bridge String Spacing: 2 5/32"
Saddle: Compensated Bone
Saddle Radius: 16"
Tuning Machines: Nickel Open Gear
Bridge Pin Material: White Plastic
Bridge Pin Dots: Faux Tortoise
Pickguard: Faux Tortoise

Case: Molded Hardshell

Label: None
Electronics: None

Please Note: On Nazareth made product we will use ebony fingerboards and bridges in their natural state on most instruments going forward.
